Editorial policy of Yourwellness

Editorial integrity
The mission of Yourwellness is to provide objective, unbiased yet trustworthy information. We never pioneer or champion a specific methodology or treatment, instead providing our readers with a multitude of options and allowing the reader to decide if they may want to try a different way of addressing an issue they may have.
We are committed to providing a variety of information on a wide range of health topics, and rather than filtering certain types of information that may or may not be applicable to any one individual's personal wellbeing, we rely on you, our readers, to choose the information that is most appropriate to you and your situation.
Please be advised, however, that any information on Yourwellness or any other web site should never be used as a substitute for professional medical advice. You should always consult your healthcare professional before acting on any information seen on Yourwellness or any other web site.

Editorial selection criteria for original content created by Yourwellness
We create original content based upon the following criteria:

Relevance -- Issues that could affect how people manage and maintain their own health or that of their family. Topics include full coverage of breaking wellbeing news; Corporate Wellness; Celebrity Wellness trends; Diet & Nutrition; Environmental Wellness; Family Wellness; and a significant amount of user generated content.

Clinical Significance -- Medical findings published in peer-reviewed medical journals, such as British Medical Journal, The Lancet, The Journal of the American Medical Association, The New England Journal of Medicine, Pediatrics, Diabetes Care, Circulation, and many others.

Trends – As we have a worldwide audience it is difficult to provide “Seasonal advice” as sping in the UK is autumn in Australia and hence subjects like "Allergy Seasons," and "Back to School Health” may not be applicable to our whole audience at the correct time. We do however carry a lot of information surrounding these topics and they can be found in the site.   We do cover emerging health trends, such as the latest in nutrition, fitness, anti-ageing, healthy living, alternative approaches, and much more.

Our news is unique
Websites which try to emulate us often find themselves accused of providing outdated and innacurate information. Yourwellness is fronted by the award winning GP Dr Sarah Brewer (www.naturalhealthguru.co.uk) and she ensures that our readers have easy access to the latest developments and breakthroughs in the health and wellbeing arena.
Dr Brewer brings her wealth of experience and is a regular contributor to leading publications around the world.
The Yourwellness magazine articles are based on Dr Brewers' selections of the most important and relevant wellness events occurring on a given day. Our editorial is usually more than just a short summary of a study or an event, instead our readers discover that Dr Brewer has personally interviewed a subject and has researched for alternative opinions from world leading experts in their field.
What this means is that Yourwellness is the ultimate tool kit to allow your body to look after itself, and we love hearing from people who have discovered a new technique or treatment thanks to our research and has received results when using it (after consulting their GP of course).

Editorial Integrity – We take our journalistic responsibility very seriously and we make a clear distinction between wellness news and user generated content. This is purely to ensure that our readers never feel misled or misinformed and whilst we may quote users comments in our magazine it is not done with the intention that they are correct and that their results will happen for everyone as we are well aware that one size does NOT fit all and a treatment which works for one person may not work for the next.

Editorial Independence -- In our reporting, we strive to maintain exemplary principles of fairness, accuracy, objectivity, and responsible, independent reporting.

Journalistic Excellence -- We uphold traditional journalistic principles of excellence in reporting original news for the Internet and in reviewing and corroborating information from a multitude of sources.

Editorial policy for Yourwellness staff
Our editorial team is an independent media service designed to provide news, information, and educational material to consumers around the world. Any news content we create is free from influence by sponsors, partners, or other sources.

Anyone who works on our editorial team must fully disclose any financial or other interests that he or she may have in any pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or other company perceived to have influence in the health & Wellbeing industry. Such disclosure must be made to the individual's immediate supervisor at the time of hiring or at the time that the financial or other interest develops. The supervisor will determine whether the interest presents a conflict and, if so, what must be done to eliminate it.
We purposely keep our editorial team distinctly separate from the team dedicated to obtaining sponsors and advertising partners. No person will ever serve on both teams, nor will duties ever cross.
Our editorial team is charged with the responsibility of providing objective, accurate, and balanced accounts of events and wellbeing issues. Our reporters are tasked to diligently seek out subjects of stories and qualified experts to provide commentary. They must also seek objective commentary or comment from every perceivable qualified spokesperson to provide balance. Material generated by our editorial team must disclose information about financial relationships or other interests that might influence outcome of a study or the commentary from an individual.
Our journalists strive to provide thorough and honest coverage and share a dedication to ethical behaviour and the highest professional standards.
