While looking at the shelves in the pharmacist's shop, you must have confused yourself with what to buy and what not to, which is a safe and which is not. Before deciding what to buy for your skin you need to know about ingredients that are safe and effective and part of effective ant aging skin care products. You need to know what is good for your skin and what is not; by the end of this article you will be much aware in this respect.

Our skin is composed of three layers, the upper layer Epidermis, the middle layer, dermis and the bottom layer called hypodermis. Wrinkling of the skin is because of various factors and the most important of which is age. With time, the cells of the skin lose moisture and tend to become thin, reducing the skin layer and making it more prone to dryness and in addition, to aging signs.

The middle layer consists of cells that produce a special type of protein called Collagen which works to bind the skin cells together and gives skin a smoother texture. With time, the ability of cells in the middle layer to secrete collagen, reduces which results in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

There are different ways to treat aging problems and applying a safe and effective anti aging skin care product is one of them. It is a known fact that natural herbs, extracts and ingredients are harmless and effective. Their application on the skin not only leaves it rich with nutrients that are essential for the glow, but also heal the skin disorders like dryness, wrinkles and blemishes etc.

When finding a suitable product, you need to look for ingredients like Phytessence Wakame, extracts from Japanese Sea, and CynergyTK which are famous for stimulating Collagen in the skin and also promote firmness. Likewise - antioxidants like CoQ10 can counter the damaging effects of free radicals to the skin and keep it healthy.

Look out for, mineral oils, which can prevent the skin from breathing. Also, dioxane, a coconut synthetic derivative, which appears to moisturize the skin but actually, it, is so hazardous that it can cause skin cancer. Fragrances are also very toxic for the skin; go for the products that are fragrance free.

To prolong the life of cosmetic products, preservatives are added to it, which are also very dangerous for our skin. Preservatives like Parabens may cause cancer and other body disorders. Similarly, alcohols should also be watched out for while buying a safe and effective anti aging skin care product. Plant alcohols are all natural and actually help your skin, so remember that not al alcohols are harmful.
