Celebrity Skin Secrets to Turn Back the Years

We all want the latest skin saving secret to help us stave off the wrinkles for a little longer, and the best people to look to are the make-up artists to the stars. These people know all the bests tips and tricks for glowing, smooth skin that will help you look younger for longer. According to the experts, the most convincing anti-ageing make-up begins with colour – spray tans are the safest way to achieve this and will help you achieve that California glow that all the celebs crave. If you don’t want an all over tan, why not try bronzing powder instead? A light dusting of bronzer over your cheeks and any areas of your face and shoulders where the sun naturally hits. This will give you a gentle glow that will knock years off instantly. However, don’t rely on the sun itself for a tan – all experts agree that this is incredibly ageing and also dangerous, due to the risk of skin cancer. Be sure to use an SPF every day and more if you’re planning on being outside for long periods of time.

A lean body is a requirement for all celebrities, and the best way to do this is to eat healthily, do plenty of exercise and drink enough water each day. If you want a quick fix though, you may wish to try dietary supplements to get rid of excess water retention and to achieve a leaner physique. This is where hydration comes into play – all make-up artists praise the humble glass of water as a fantastic anti-ager. Keeping your skin hydrated is the easiest way to hold back the years and achieve a smoother complexion. If you are aiming to hydrate from the inside out, drink six to eight glasses of water every day to keep your body functioning properly. You can also moisturise from the outside with a hydrating cream or lotion every morning before applying your foundation. Make-up artists to the stars recommend a technique known as skin patting which gets the blood flowing to the face for a healthy glow. Using the pads of your fingers, gently but firmly tap the skin to bring the blood to the surface. Lifeless skin is a quick way to age yourself, so try to do this each morning to liven your complexion up. Try to rid your eyes of any excess fluid as well, which you can do by tapping the area around your eye in a circular motion to drain away the fluid.

Face masks are a quick way to liven up your complexion and smooth your skin, with all of the celebrities being great believers in these wonder treatments. You don’t have to spend a fortune on the most talked about face masks though in order to reap the rewards. You can make your own mask with ingredients from your kitchen. Mix together one egg yolk with ⅛ teaspoon of honey and a drop of olive oil. Apply the mask to a clean face and then relax as the mask tightens. Once it has dried, let it sit for a further five minutes to allow the ingredients to nourish and exfoliate your skin. Wash the mask off and then mix the egg white with ½ tablespoon of lemon juice and apply this mixture to the face as well. Once this has dried, wash off again and apply your favourite serum and moisturiser. The second mask will brighten the skin and tighten it for a firmer appearance and a healthy glow.
